Residents enjoy a ‘Big Chat’ at NHS annual review

Over 40 south Sefton residents turned out for the local Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCG) ‘Annual Review meets Big Chat’ event on Thursday 21 September.

For the third year running, NHS South Sefton CCG combined its annual review meeting with a ‘Big Chat’ style event held at The Park Hotel in Netherton.

During the event residents got to hear about the CCG’s performance and achievements over the past 12 months and were also invited to give their views about the CCG’s latest work to shape services.

Self care was the theme throughout the event, how people should examine their options when they become unwell and how they can use the 5 ways to wellbeing to improve their health with a session hosted by Sefton CVS.

Dr Andy Mimnagh chair of the CCG, said: “The format of this event worked well and we welcomed discussions with residents on several topics, including over the counter medications and self care.

“We reminded guests about the options available to them when they or someone they know become unwell and we also had a presentation from Sefton CVS on the five ways to wellbeing which included a five minute mindfulness exercise.

“Guests also heard about the CCG’s Shaping Sefton programme, how we make key decisions and about Personal Health Budgets and how they can cater for individual needs.”

Copies of the CCGs annual reports were available for guests to take away along with leaflets on local services available to them.
