Healthwatch Sefton seek volunteer chairperson

Thursday, February 13, 2020

Sefton’s local NHS health and care consumer champion is looking to recruit a chairperson to lead the organisation over the next three years.

Healthwatch Sefton makes sure local people have a say in influencing the design and delivery of local health and care services for those who use them now and those who might need them in the future.

The role will require someone with knowledge, understanding and experience of governance at a senior or board level. The chairperson will chair the Healthwatch board, steering group and be their representative on Sefton’s Health and Wellbeing board.

The role is a voluntary position and unpaid, however reasonable out of pocket expenses will be paid. The minimum commitment to the role will be 2 days per month (which can be covered over a number of days/hours).

Diane Blair, Manager explains: “This is an exciting time to join us as we are also recruiting to many other volunteer roles so this will be a fantastic opportunity to shape the future of our organisation moving forward.”

Testimonial from the previous chairperson;

“It has been a privilege to have been chair of Healthwatch Sefton for two terms of office. I have learnt a great deal about how health and social care services are provided locally and about what is important to the people of Sefton. “We have an excellent team of staff and volunteers and the new chair will be in a good position to move forward with the work that has been started and to really make a difference for the people of Sefton.”
