Wednesday, April 11, 2018

In support of National Diabetes Prevention Week, your local CCGs will be launching a Sefton focused campaign to raise awareness of the risks of Type 2 diabetes and to promote the local ‘Healthier You: Diabetes Prevention Programme’ which provides tailored support to help patients reduce their risk of developing the condition.

Please watch the below video for more information about Type 2 diabetes, the risks and the diabetes prevention programme.

How you can support and get involved

  • If you are hosting an event during the week, think about promoting the campaign and using some of the free NHS resources that can be found here – this includes posters, films and powerpoint slides
  • Parkrun, Crosby, Saturday, 21 April - a dedicated Diabetes Prevention Week park run will be held in Crosby and local partners and residents are encouraged to get involved. Please promote and think about joining in yourself! Further information will be available here shortly
  • We will be issuing a press release later in the week, so please promote and cascade to colleagues and via your various channels
  • Throughout the next few weeks, we will be actively promoting via Twitter, so please retweet the posts on our twitter page: @NHSSSCCG
  • If you are doing something locally to support the campaign, let us know by emailing southsefton.ccg@nhs.net and we will do what we can to support.
