Patient participation group event

Date exercise ended - Tuesday, November 12, 2019

In November we held a patient participation Group (PPG) recruitment and information event at the SING Centre, Cambridge Road, Seaforth. This was the result of working with Healthwatch Sefton and the actions falling out an event we held earlier in the year.

The initial event was held on 15 May 2019 at St Stephen’s Church, Hightown when a number of practice managers and PPG members came together to discuss and identify ways of strengthening the PPG network across Sefton.

These events are part of the ongoing work with Healthwatch Sefton to raise awareness of practice patient participation groups (PPGs) and to encourage more people in Sefton to get involved.

What we covered

There were presentations to explain to people what a PPG is, how they work and the benefits of being a member. There were also talks from PPG representatives who gave an overview of how their group work and the positive contributions they make.

Alongside the event, there was also a marketplace of health and wellbeing stalls so people could find out more about local health and wellbeing services.
