Review of local health policies – phase 3

The latest phase of our project to review more than 100 health polices has begun and we are asking for your views to help make sure our limited NHS resources are used on the most effective treatments.
We are reviewing a group of policies for procedures and treatments that are known as Criteria Based Clinical Treatments (CBCT). These are routine procedures that are known to have medical benefit only in very specific situations, or for a small number of people.
This is the third phase of the review, which aims is to keep NHS care up to date with the latest national clinical guidelines, methods and technology, whilst also making the best use of NHS resources.
We are working with CCGs in Halton, Warrington, Liverpool, St Helens, South Sefton and Southport and Formby on the review, and you can see the full draft policies and the changes that we are proposing to them from the links in the following table.

We are looking to understand the views and experiences of individuals or families who have received, or who are currently receiving one or more of the above treatments. Clinicians, providers and community groups with an interest in the above treatments or policy changes, are also encouraged to share their views in our survey.
We are also letting people know about updates to our policy for Botulinum toxin treatments, bringing it in line with national guidance from NICE, the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence and the Pan Mersey Area Prescribing Committee.

You can complete an online survey which will take about 15 minutes to complete.
You can download an easy read version of the survey and return it to the address on it.
The survey closes on 14 July 2019.
