New provider for Hightown Village Surgery

Tuesday, March 27, 2018

In the past few days, Chapel Lane Surgery in Formby has come forward with an offer to run practice in Hightown and this has been accepted.  Chapel Lane Surgery has a proven track record in delivering NHS primary care services to the local population.

Hightown Village Surgery is currently run by an interim provider, Ashurst Healthcare, whose contract is due to expire on 31 March 2018.  Ashurst Healthcare had previously indicated that it would continue to run the practice until 8 June. However, under the new arrangement, it has been agreed that Chapel Lane Surgery will take over the contract for Hightown Village Surgery on 1 April 2018.

This means that Hightown Village Surgery will remain open and registered patients can continue to access services there as normal and contact the practice on same telephone number as currently.

There will be no changes to services and patients who have an appointment at the practice next week or in future weeks should attend as normal.

This change is happening on a bank holiday weekend and the arrangements will be exactly the same as for any other bank holiday. Patients who ring the practice over the bank holiday weekend will be diverted to out of hours services to get the health advice and treatment they need.

Together with Chapel Lane Surgery, NHS commissioners will be seeking to work with the practice’s Patient Participation Group (PPG) to arrange an event to introduce the new provider to patients and give an opportunity to ask questions.  More information about this will be provided in the near future.
